One doesn’t see Druckgrafik artwork very often in Köln, whereas it is quite popular in parts of the U.S., especially Seattle.  Druckgrafik consists of 4 primary Families: Hochdruck, Tiefdruck, Flachdruck, Durchdruck. Dirty Fingers is a group exhibition consisting of different types of Druckgrafik techniques including Holzschnitt, Linolschnitt, Steindruck, Radierung, Mezzotinto, and Aquatinta. I’m currently visiting Werkstatt’s throughout Germany in order to hunt for artists and observe each process in action. I’m looking forward to sharing my findings with you. Be prepared for long guided tours during Dirty Fingers because the techniques require much discussion. And you will learn why the exhibition is called Dirty Fingers.
